    Functions and Applications

    Cobalt Tetroxide is similar to ferroferric oxide, and can be approximately regarded as a compound formed by cobalt oxide (CoO) and cobalt oxide (Co2O3). Black or grayish black powder. The apparent density is 0.5-1.5g/cm3, and the tap density is 2.0-3.0g/cm3. Cobalt Tetroxide can be slowly dissolved in hot sulfuric acid, but it is insoluble in water, nitric acid and hydrochloric acid at room temperature. When heated above 1200 ℃, it will decompose into cobaltous oxide. When it is strongly heated to 900℃ in a hydrogen flame, it is reduced to metal cobalt.

    Application:

    1.Mainly used in battery materials, magnetic materials, thermistors, etc;

    2.Used for making superhard heat-resistant alloy and magnetic alloy, cobalt compound, catalyst, electric lamp filament and porcelain glaze, etc.

    3.Mainly used in magnetic materials, electronic component materials, hard alloy materials, enamel, ceramic enamel, glass, cobalt catalyst and other cobalt salts.
