    Germanium granule is a kind of silver gray metal with luster and hardness, which is made of high-purity germanium ingot through physical process in a clean environment. The germanium grain belong to that carbon group, and the chemical properties of germanium are similar to those of tin and silicon of the same group. Germanium is slowly oxidized to GeO2 at 250 ℃. The germanium particle are insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid and dilute caustic solution. Germanium is dissolved in aqua regia, concentrated nitric acid or sulfuric acid, molten alkali, alkali peroxide, nitrate or carbonate, and reacts with molten alkali to form germanate. Germanium particles are not oxidized in air, and their fine powder can be burned in chlorine or bromine.
